Will be getting the train from Stanford-Le-Hope. Not sure on time but around 10 - 10:30

Is it best to purchase a ticket (travelcard) or can I just tap in and out?
Discount if you buy 48 hours prior

Also, a load of us getting the 9.15 to Baker street to the metropolitan bar. No sleep till Barker Street! Welcome to join us

Another thing, we arent going to have the hordes on Wembley way are we, iconic walk from the station, under the bridge.
Oh ffs !

You say that, but a carefully planned & organised mass meeting of Shrimpers at the top (station end) of Wembley Way, around 13:45, could be interesting.

A few thousand marching down Wembley Way, similar to the anti-Ron marches down Victoria Avenue, chanting Southend songs - and of course, **** the National League - couple be quite a spectacle.

Safe journey brother. I think if i was you i'd do the same, go to RH just for the buzz if i was forced to buy this bloomin ticket coach malarky
This is my thing now.

My Missus isn't happy about the Coach situation. I'm getting ear ache from the constant Discussing.

We're taking our 8 year old little girl, I promised her we would go if we made it.

Thing is we're driving from Cardiff. So we're effectively passing Wembley to get to Southend.

But for me being on a coach surrounded by other excited fans will add to the experience especially for my little girl (albeit I hope they have thought about grouping families etc).

But do we just book parking and avoid all the extra hassle?

What's everyone else think?

Rayleigh > Liverpool Street > Central Line to Oxford Circus > Bakerloo Line to Marylebone > Wembley Stadium (Station).

Almost buckled and purchased a parking ticket, but the traffic around Wembley could be quite sticky and I prefer to be able to have a couple of drinks etc, than be tied to driving.

All along I keep thinking that's the easiest route (I'd usually do Circle Line to Baker St > Metropolitan/Jubilee Line to Wembley Park) so this will be a new one for a Wembley visit.

Genuinely can't see what the complication is, given Wembley Central is also an option.

Yes, Oldham/Southend fans might be mingling a bit, but I think the majority probably feel more solidarity with Latics fans given all this ticket nonsense and vice versa.

All this transport malarkey feels like a storm in a teacup. Proper nanny state stuff.

The Bakerloo line will get overcrowded very quickly. Here's some alternative routes to use:

Take the Piccadilly line to Alperton or Sudbury Town and walk from there to Wembley Central station. It's only a mile (20 mins walk) and may well be quicker than queuing for the Bakerloo line.

Top tip two:

Take the Elizabeth line to Farringdon and change onto Thameslink. It's a 23 minute journey to Brent Cross West and from there take a black cab. You may think a 20 minute journey costing £60 is expensive but split between you and your mates it will only be £15 each. Check the AA app for traffic congestion before you use this route.

This time tomorrow night I’ll be at the airport (again!). Like last time Emirates to Dubai, 3 hour layover then Dubai to Stansted. It’s longer than direct but so much easier than Heathrow and Dubai airport is fabulous. No suitcase so 30 mins to mine north of Braintree once out.

Still a few moving parts on exactly how I’m getting to game and back but that’s not an issue, either travel alone or with brother and entourage. Trying to avoid driving so I can have a babycham before the game. I walk at least 8 miles a day so I really don’t have any issues with a station miles away if needed possibly Sudbury. I’ll just keep a key eye on crowding updates from those on Bakerloo/Marylebone routes.

Return flights in reverse Monday evening and the joys of jet lag all over again.

Swerve the coach. The petrol you save could pay for your parking. Plus after the game you've then got to head to the coach to get to Southend to get your car before you even start your journey home. You'll be driving past Wembley on your way home 5 or 6 hours after you left it.

West Yorkshire via Leeds down to Kings Cross with my 7-year old son. He’s buzzing for it. Staying over Saturday and Sunday night in a hotel and I’ve told his school he won’t be in on Monday 🙂

Took him to games at Oldham (coincidentally) and Halifax this season and told him that Wembley is so much bigger than those grounds it’ll blow his tiny mind…

Straight from work to Laindon station then c2c to Stratford, Crossrail to Paddington and Bakerloo Line to Wembley Central. All being well should make kick off with a few minutes to spare.
