Best gigs ever!!!!

Ahh... through a student-tinged haze, I've just remembered the Finsbury Park "Essential Weekender" in Finsbury Park, Summer 1997... Goldie in the Metalheadz tent, Massive Attack on the main stage. That was some feckin' day (although sadly, the last time I ever saw Kemistry & Storm perform together).

**Welcome to Jazz Club.....nice....**

:finger:

That's not even the half of it. I've seen way more memorable Jazz gigs than any other type of gig. Ahh, memories come to mind of Guy Barker, Hugh Masekela and especially Marcus Roberts - the latter playing the most achingly beautiful "Someone to watch over me"... I almost blubbed...

:D

:D

Did you see Paul McCartney there?! I did! Ahh, Roy... bloody blinding gigs, seen him three times at Ronnies, loved every single one.

:)

No I didn't. I have to say i'm not really a jazz fan, I was dragged along by a friend of mine. Given that, it wasn't bad...although I may have my dates mixed up. It may have been one of his earlier gigs.

Dexys Midnight runners circa 1981 at Kent University, Canterbury.
The Specials at the Cliffs Pavillion also 81 I think.

Not been to many gigs, two that do stand out though were the 1st and 2nd Madstocks ('92 & '94?) with Madness (obviously) Ian Dury & The Blockheads,Aswad (first Madstock) and the Buzzcocks (2nd Madstock)

Also V2001(?) seeing Red Hot Chilli Peppers was quite good

Too right. That meeting yesterday was one of those "didn't think I'd see it in my lifetime" moments...

Certainly was. Spent quite a while looking at the pic of them in the paper this morning thinking "What the f..."

Here's hoping it all works out.
