2022-23 Pre-Season Friendlies: confirmed fixtures / dates

Potential for 9 games there. That week at the start of the month could easily be we go away somewhere with Saturday 2nd and Tuesday 5th currently free.

Fully expect Tuesday 26th to be filled as well

Will these all be for the first team or will a few of these be for the B-team?

I have it on good authority that Palace at home is scheduled for the 29th so I suspect a B team to Concord ?

I reckon we will take plenty to col u pre season.

Especially with a good few being quite a distance

It's just a friendly though so not many people will be very bothered about it. I agree a proper cup match would bring a decent gate but a friendly will attract very few fans by comparison.

Do the away games count for loyalty points?
Oh, I hope we don’t go down the loyalty points route.
I surpose I done about 70% of the away games, but gave up with saving the little away ticket things, and then having to email them off to the box office etc...

Southend, Colchester, Chelmsford and Billericay in the [insert stupid sponsor name] Super Essex Friendly Cup. Like our version of the Emirates Cup.

Ipswich away added.

Another pre-season friendly has been added to the schedule with a trip to face Sky Bet League One opposition next month.

Kevin Maher will take his Southend United squad to Portman Road to take on Ipswich Town, managed by Kieran McKenna.

Blues will make the journey up the A12 twice in quick succession with the game against the Tractor Boys coming a week after facing Colchester United.

The friendly is due to take place on Tuesday, July 26 with a 7pm kick-off. Ticket information will be released closer to the game.

It is the seventh pre-season friendly to be announced so far ahead of the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign.
