But not as bad as the defeat in league cup 6 years earlier 9-0 with Wright and Bright both getting hatricks ! Thats my worst defeat since 1968 !

That nine nil defeat was a definite shocker...

Come on it was actually only 8-0 so not so bad!
If I remember I think Palace scored 5 goals in the last 15 mins.
That was the first leg and we actually only lost the 2nd leg 2-1 at home. Still amazed that the crowd for the 2nd leg was about 5,500
 
That was a shocker of a game that 6-1 defeat to palace. I left at 5-0 back to the cherry tree. Only knew we had scored by the teletext on in the pub.

I also left at 5-0. The only game other than Wycombe 4-1 last season I ever left early. And the latter was to get to a wedding. That palace game was truly abysmal.

I confess Iwould have been mad enough to go anyway,but most people had already bought their tickets in advance.
