1, 2 and 4 correct.

Regarding answer number 1 - the England squad in those Finals were also, by and large, numbered in alphabetical order (hence Terry Butcher #3, Steve Coppell #5 etc.).

5) Group 1, all venues started with same letter (Wembley & White City), Group 4, all venues ended in Park (Ayresome & Roker) - probably not the correct answer but factually right

Q3) Non Irish players (that I'm sure about)
Chris Morris, Mick McCarthy, Ray Houghton, John Aldridge, Tony Cascarino, Andy Townsend, Bernie Slaven, Gerry Payton. Not sure about Chris Hughton or John Sheridan so I will say 14.

Sorry Napster. Answer 3 is actually correct.

The six were: Packie Bonner (Donegal), Steve Staunton (Drogheda), Kevin Moran (Dublin), Ronnie Whelan (Dublin), Niall Quinn (Dublin) and Frank Stapleton (Dublin). I originally thought that John Byrne was Irish born, but apparently he was born in Manchester.

For the record of the 16 who were not born in Ireland one was born in Wales (Kevin Sheedy), two in Scotland (bernie Slaven and Ray Houghton), 13 in England (although one was born in Cornwall, and I don't think they think of themselves as English, do they?)

You missed David O'Leary, if he played in that championships. He was actually born in North London
