I think we should resurrect the old classic 'Knees up Mother Brown'

Didn't mean anything , and , strange lyrics, but everyone used to sing it once. The younger lot wouldn't have a clue so here are the words;

Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Under the table you must go
Ee-aye, Ee-aye, Ee-aye-oh
If I catch you bending
I'll saw your legs right off
Knees up, knees up
Never get the breeze up
Knees up Mother Brown

Oh my, what a rotten song
What a rotten song
What a rotten song
Oh my, what a rotten song
And what a rotten singer
Too-oo-ooh

Other teams fans would think WHAT

eee they don't know they're born....

I have been drinking a lot lately........waiting for the England game.

I've always said that it would make sense to use an old song because it gives the impression it has been used for a long time. It also won't be cheesy or tacky as would a new song when it gets to about 5-10 years old.
A bit like "Only You" by Yazoo

I always think the best club 'anthems', particularly for clubs where success is a rare thing, tend to be sad songs with a hopeful message, such as Blue Moon (obviously not quite so apt now City are winning everything). Songs that say yes we know we're a bit rubbish, but once in a while we'll do something special which makes it all worth while.

A bit like "Keeping the Dream Alive" by Muchener Frieheit :winking:
