Attendances lately

Great marketing. Kids are more likely to wear the shirts on non-matchdays; greater advertising and awareness.
Excellent marketing in my eyes.

By targeting young fans, the club is fostering a sense of loyalty and attachment from an early age. These young fans are likely to grow up supporting the club, leading to long-term fan retention. When kids wear the club's shirt, they become walking advertisements, influencing their friends and peers, potentially attracting more young fans to the club.

Parents are more likely to attend games with their children, increasing ticket sales and overall attendance, which also enhances the family-friendly image of the club. While the initial shirt is free, it can lead to future merchandise purchases as the child grows or wants the latest kit, increasing revenue for the club. Providing a free shirt creates a positive experience and memory associated with the club, making it more likely that the child will continue to support the team. This strategy helps the club connect with the local community, showing that they value and invest in their young fans.

Overall, it's a win-win situation that benefits both the club and the young fans.

Although you could argue that you've then damaged the child for life as they now has to support Wycombe Wanderers but that's another argument.

Why too generous? Am sure that Wycombe's board have signed it off! Or don't you like kids being encouraged to go to games and support their local(ish) club rather than support one of the Manchester clubs via Sky Sports?

Blimey...
I agree with the sentiment - it's the pricing I'm questioning. On the face of it they appear to be selling a kids season ticket and a shirt at less than the price of just a shirt. I'd have thought take up would be similar if the price was double, e.g., buy a shirt and get a free season ticket.

But as I said, I don't know what they've tried previously, don't know what conditions are attached to their offer (e.g. need to buy adult season as well?) so haven't got all the information to make a fully informed opinion.

The only way that would backfire is if they take the shirt and never bother turning up to games... but hopefully, by under 14 they're bringing a full paying adult too.

Great incentive though. Unfortunately it wouldn't work for my family (extremely hard for me to get to Saturday games) but in the future I would love to take up something like that.
