Having just seen the BBC highlights from Saturday, the following is evident:

MK Dons did not earn any of their three goals, all were given to them, but a complete lack of tracking runners. Regardless of how big our squad is, this should not be happening.

Of the highlights we had more chances than they did, and to be fair, we got unlucky with a couple (Vernon's shocker aside).

Tonight needs to be used to address key issues. I am not suggesting throwing the game, but management need to be inteligent enough to realise that ironing out a few issues tonight could prove equally as benefical in the longterm, as a lucky point.

The "basic" problem is that we cant defend or convert chances for love nor money.

The first goal saturday if one of Macca or JFC tracks the runner they dont score, the 2nd goal was poor snd the third comes from JFC losing it, Mildy saves fair play but palms it into the arms of the forward and Baldwin gets done.

We also missed enough chances to have killed them off three of four times over.

You can coach a team as much as you want, but if they don't put into practice what you've gone through on the training pitch, there's sod all you can do about it.

Having a squad that's below average in their division, but with having next to nobody in reserve to compete for a starting 11 place, is the real catalyst for the performances of recent months.

Whatever any manager and coach in the country could say or do would make minimal difference at the moment, let alone Tilly & Brush.

I have a 'feeling' about tonight.

I'm not sure whether or not it's a good one just yet, but it might be...

This sums it up perfectly. This is how it is.

The defending was poor, but Franchise earned those goals. Take the first goal, their player brings the ball forward with pace and purpose, there's good movement from their striker and it's a good pass to find him, its then more good vision to play it back to the unmarked player.

If we brought the ball forward with such purpose, picked such passes and had the vision to pick out unmarked players we'd be doing a lot better this season.

Same for the third goal, OK it's a wretched pass from McCormack and badly dealt with by Christophe but MK Franchise Scum are closing down Christophe putting him under pressure and cutting off his passing options and it is then clinically converted. We've been carrying a midfielder all season whose game is supposedly about pressurising opposition midfielders high up the pitch, yet he's only done it once all season.

And that was in the 1st game.....

Our squad is surely the same size now as when we won this league?

Up until January we could talk about the lack of players but thats no excuse now, we have a decent sized squad and players in the right positions now.

Whether those players are good enough and/or have any self belief or motivation left after the last 6 months is another matter...
