Yes...

...by moving north of the Watford Gap!

Incidentally, I think Thatcher got that one wrong. But that's what she created in the south, alas...

I think Northerners are intimidated by the fact that we have electricity in the South........

She did attempt to create such an ethos (with some success) with a group of people in a middle to high earnings bracket in London and the Home Counties - and Blair would like to follow her lead I fear.

Back on topic I agree with you that it is rare these days for a player outside the Premier$hite to move from the north to the south. When they do, they rarely perform to their given ability (e.g. Mark Tinkler - good for York, useless for us, very good for Hartlepool). It would be great to see Luke Beckett sign on the dotted line, but I can't see it happening somehow.

I don't blame Beckett for being too scared to move.

Down South even the water is hard.

Yeah took his time to get going but hes a prime example of why some players should be given longer to shine!

the club could not have done more on the Beckett front, beleive me!

^Agreed... He's on a season long loan at Oldham and although we probably had a bid accepted and offered him reasonable wages, its the North/South divide again.

Thats why i reckon Bruce Dyer is a more likely target... avaliable and from Ilford.
