He's overpriced, but also a proven premiership goalscorer, which clubs will pay mega bucks for, so it's no shock.

Will be interesting to see who Charlton go for to replace him.

Dont think we have been over pricing him certaiinly would not have taken the Wolves bid they where trying to get him on the cheap.

If the Bent deals goes through subject to the player agreeing terms Carlton
could make there first bid for Freddy and anything from £1.8m - £2m i hope
RM would accept it and bring this to a end

I'm still not sure why Charlton would want him - unless somebody comes our way? If they get Eastwood, they will have:-

Varney, Marcus Bent, Iwelumo, Lisbie (and a couple of youngsters) plus Eastwood...

Cannot see any of them being happy with a place on the bench in the CCC. With Lisbie looking to leave, maybe we could do something like £1.5m cash, £250,000 for promotion + Kevin Lisbie - making the whole deal worth around £2m in value.

Then again, with £17m+ in your pocket, wouldnt you go for something a little more extravagent?...

Young, English, settled in the area, quick, strong and a very good finisher. Bent is a very good player.

As for Eastwood to Charlton, I just don't see why they would have signed Varney had they been interested in Freddy.

I think Norwich have surely got to be favourites for Fred now - local(ish) and have £2m+ to spend which they were prepared to give Scunny.

Peter Grant has already said they were looking at Sharp and Eastwood and rumours last week that the Norwich deal was already a 'done-deal' - though that was one of many 'done-deals' we have read recently! :cry:
