Elliot Benyon

Has gone to Torquay on loan for one month with an option to extend the loan for the rest of the season.

Good move for all concerned. he has not been around the first team for most of the season, gives him a chance to get games, he has gone to team that are not promotion rivals this year and hopefully they are picking up some if not all of his wages whilst he is there.

Elliot Benyon joins Torquay United on loan from Southend United

SOUTHEND United striker Elliot Benyon has joined Torquay United on loan until the end of the season.

Yes. No point having a player sat around who clearly isn't going to get games. Eastwood to Dagenham next.

Would expect a signing to be made before the weekend, maybe even in time for Tuesday, if it's on

Not surprised to see him leave on loan. Not playing as much as he'd probably like but he's not been that good when he has played and can't be played off a penalty against Oxford. Hopefully he does well and we can get a bit of a fee for him. This probably also likely means that someone may be coming in as there'll be some free wages. Loan would likely be for a month I'd guess.

Funny, don't expect that kind of news to be released Sunday night! A sensible move for both player and club and as others have indicated, we can be hopeful that someone will be coming in ..............probably at the end of the week. Pity it didn't work out as I remember being quite happy when he signed but there you go...........time to move on.

Wish him all the best, our support never took to him so hope he makes it elsewhere, just not on 16th March!

It Would be on the "to the end of the season" part of the loan, so not sure if he would or not! :dim:

A loanee can't play against his parent club no matter the circumstances. This isn't Italy.

Another prime example of what happens when people other than the manager get ideas above their station and have a crack at the transfer market. This isn't to say that Benyon's a particularly bad player, I still think he'll score goals given the service that's right for him and his previous goalscoring feats seem to suggest just that, but he was never right for this team and has proven to be a complete waste of resources.
