Billy got properly emotional too. What an absolute legend. Never heard a reception like it.

For some reason my eyes started to water as the king came to the west side, the legend had returned.

Same for me. Got a lump in my throat. So many great memories. What a legend.

I went to meet him after the game, and was so glad I did.

Obviously his success here was way before my time, but my old man was telling me about him from a young age.

What a true gent. He and his family were absolutely bowled over by his day at Roots Hall, and I had a great chat with him.

Huge well done to @Suffolk Shrimper In Dorset and Nobbler, and anyone else involved in making it such a great day for Billy.

Yes he most certainly was, in fact we both were, I was fortunate enough to have been given the privilege to come and walk across the Roots Hall pitch with him. Can clearly been seen on the video released by the football club when Billy turns towards where you were sitting in the South Upper.

I would say that half of those who gave King Billy Best such a fantastic reception had not even seen Billy play . With that reception it proved what a True Legend King Billy is and always will be .
