Big shout for a penalty for the home side as Graham goes down in the area under pressure from Turner. Referee gives nothing.

Demetriu bursts forward. He charges into the box and fires over from the right hand side of the area.

Jack Payne's left wing cross is put wide of his own goal by Ben Coker, he did well there.

Good opportunity for Blues to nick one before the interval but no-one in a dark Blue shirt can get a show away. Eventually Mantom tries chipping Raya from 20-yards out but it floats well over.

2 minutes added time

Half time 0 : 0

Blackburn 2 shots one on target, Southend 4 shots one on target.

A very solid and well-organised first 45 minutes for Blues. Have had some half chances going forward too.

A good performance by us, so much better than at Plymouth. The loss of Bradley Dack to injury has clearly upset Blackburn's play. Let's hope Mowbray can't sort it out at half-time and that SCP can motivate us to keep up the pressure on the Rovers' defence which is not looking great.

Fantastic so far. We're normally 2 or 3 nil down by now away from home. Better performance by all the players. Better formation. More bite in midfield, with Mantom rather than Woody. We always play our best games with two wingers. Let's hope we can keep it going in the second half.

Superb stop from Oxley just before the end of the half. Excellent half from all the players.

Rovers finally score with a header from Graham. Disappointing. Now how will we respond? I hope we don't fold up.....
