He’ll be playing I’m sure. This wasn’t his first surgery, rather the final one. Presumably the heavy lifting is done earlier on. He may need a mask at first (which the NHS won’t take into account as plebs like us wouldn’t get one), but I don’t think he’ll miss a minute of pre-season or the season.

I doubt Mr Humphrys had to suffer at the hands of the NHS.....He would be waiting until next Summer.

I reckon we will be seeing that masked stranger for some time yet. Hang on....didn't someone say that it was nicked during the Sunderland after match celebrations. Cue @South Bank Hank going all wobbly again at the mention of the post match celebrations.

You cant go private at A&E but you can for any follow up operations.

I spoke to JW after the recent charity match at RH. I said i hadn't realised how much pain he was in until I saw the game on TV a few days later.

John told me he was desperate to stay on the pitch and just kept telling himself get through the next 2 minutes. What a top man, hope he signs that deal.
