Echo News Blues’ Stephen has operation to mend nose

Will he have to wear a mask every time he plays form now on, or will this not be required once he has healed?

He’ll be playing I’m sure. This wasn’t his first surgery, rather the final one. Presumably the heavy lifting is done earlier on. He may need a mask at first (which the NHS won’t take into account as plebs like us wouldn’t get one), but I don’t think he’ll miss a minute of pre-season or the season.

I wondered whether players get any preferential hospital treatment. Didn't John White have to attend (queue at? A & E after his arm fracture?

You cant go private at A&E but you can for any follow up operations.

I spoke to JW after the recent charity match at RH. I said i hadn't realised how much pain he was in until I saw the game on TV a few days later.

John told me he was desperate to stay on the pitch and just kept telling himself get through the next 2 minutes. What a top man, hope he signs that deal.

Well I just hope he clapped the fans after the final whistle. Pampered footballers don't know they're born sometimes.:Winking:
