Boots and Laces (Beckham Metal)

Just on my dog walk and had a wander onto Boots and Laces land sad to see it all overgrown and smashed up! Where has the metal dome gone? Ron sold it for Scrap?

Sad to see as have some great memories from there (SZFC training on Wednesday nights, Quiz Nights, Meet the Blues Days, interviewing players / staff in my Southend Radio days).

But yes not our problem any more.

Turning an illiquid asset into liquid cash - no different to my son cashing in his loose change jar at the supermarket coin sorting machine.

He purchased a can of Lynx and a crate of lager for a party - hopefully the club will invest the money just as wisely.
Did he pull or was he missing a bottle of blue nun?

Those pictures make me quite sad - it was an absolutely fabulous place as the Access Sports & Social Club back in the day, well before it ever came under the Club's umbrella, and then, of course, so many good times there for Meet the Blues Day and often just popping over to watch training when you could, under Tilson.
