Official Match Thread Bradford City v Southend United

Embarrassing, I can accept losing, but we cannot even be bothered to compete. Get Acquah off and let Sterling have a go at doing nothing.
If Sterling is just swapped for Acquah you will have exactly the same resort- zero support due to how we are set up (again)

I do wish I could see Acquah in a sprint; not scoring; not looking dangerous; not tackling; heading or dribbling (lol) just running flat out.
Is he capable, or does he think that's the province of others?
Hobson?
I can think of a dozen National League centre backs better than him.

We all know the outcome and the ‘opposition only need to turn up’ etc, but sadly our team look like they know it too. Their heads are so low I can’t see anyone trying to gee them up. JD? MM? They all look resigned to losing every game. We look like we need ‘putting down’.

How low down the pyrsmid would we have to go to be competitive? Who was the non league local team that dicked us in preseason? Brushed that under the carpet but it was actually the best measure of where we were as a team.
That was Concord wasn’t it? 3-0 but it was the U21s, no first team involved. Although I wouldn’t be suprised if the first team lost 3-0 to Concord either.

Tactically it’s shocking- the dreaded 343 strangled us at birth and then we went to our second least effective formation of 433 just to put the icing on the cake.

Front three a taxi ride apart (again), huge gaps as we are outnumbered in midfield (again). We need 442 or 352 (still). At a loss to explain it- I can only think he is picking a formation to try and get certain players on the pitch...

I guess it’s all that time Molesley spends until 10pm tactically analysing the opposition and adapting the formation accordingly... Without noticing the basics that our team can’t cope with the chopping and changing and the players are completely unmotivated. Get back to basics please for god’s sake and give them a rocket up the arse.

It’s not about the squad, and nobody is expecting him to get this squad winning 3-0 each week. Coaching them to at least compete and be able to pass to blue shirts would be a good start in proving his managerial ability at least.

Aside from waving a magic wand, MM will never get these players to compete.

These players are simply out of their depth at this level. It genuinely doesn’t matter who’s in charge.

Hobson, Dieng, Goodship & Acquah are conference players at best.

Lennon, Oxley & ANG are reserve players at Lg2 level.

Elvis is woefully out of form, and seems to be drifting further away from being able to compete.

Olayinka, JD & Clifford are the only ones who are ok at this level.

No even that angry or bothered anymore, which I'm upset to say as that's the start of giving up. But there's only some much I can take, especially with the world climate currently.

I'm not sure I could give up though that's the thing, almost like an addiction.

Tend to agree although A Little harsh on ANG

I’m not sure what MM is meant to do with this lot. You can train players but once they step over the white line there’s got to be some pride for the shirt and professional responsibility. I haven’t seen this for 2 years or more. We’ve had Powell, Bond, Waddock, Campbell and now Molesley and none have found the answer. What the hell is wrong with these players? Lack of ability I can forgive but not lack of fight and desire. I don’t even just think it’s confidence any more, it’s the basics we aren’t doing. The basics that even park football teams get right.

Yet Oxley’s the best paid keeper in L2 and 1 according to Ron, and Dieng and Lennon were bought as L1 players and are probably paid accordingly. What a joke...
