Agreed, Strictly Come Dancing is the most over hyped, biggest crock of shiite on television. From what little I've seen of it, Brucie seems to have trouble seeing, let alone reading the autocue.
And, did anyone see him on the news when John Seargent left the show? Thought he was doing an Ali G impression. Perhaps that's why he was overlooked.

I think with Bruce it's the longevity and the fact he's been in the business man and boy for well over 60 years. Apart from the shameful way he spoke to John Sergeant during the final, he's behaved with decorum and dignity, done huge amounts for charities and fronted some of the major prime time shows. When you consider the way Ks are dished out to ex MPs at the drop of a hat, I can sympathise with the situation with BF.

I think the whole NY honours are a joke anyway - MBEs to 14 yr old and 19yr old swimmers? A Knighthood to a bloke who simply just rode a bike VERY FAST? 3 years late to the people that helped out in 7/7.
