Nothing left to play for this season but so Saj and Curtis are having fun:

End of Over 10: 71-0, runrate=7.10
Pratt 5-0-27-0
Curtis* 27 (33 balls)
Sajjad 39 (27 balls)

Considering this was the situation...

End of Over 9: 16-1, runrate=1.78
Grant 5-1-9-1
Phillips* 6 (11 balls)
Ottley 10 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Hitchman b. Grant 0 (FOW: 3/1)

... i was struggling against the league leaders - champions - but a 35 ball 29 from Phillips, later dismissed, helped things and with Titterton now in, my chances really hinge on him staying in for most of the innings and aiming for around 250 upwards.

Now 86-2 off 21 overs!

Kev

Curtis out, at least he made some runs. My aptly named new all rounder gets his chance:

End of Over 23: 148-1, runrate=6.43
Hutchinson 5-0-33-1
Sajjad* 71 (65 balls)
Botham 20 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Curtis c. Charlton b. Hutchinson 48 (FOW: 110/1)

Now 107-2 off 29 overs. Just noticed that it does look hard to get runs on their pitch but 250 is still by aim. Got Bayliss, Lamb, Philip and Stanton all to come after them 2 so its okay-ish!

thought i'd try for 400 again, seems to be going ok...

End of Over 31: 249-0, runrate=8.03
Wheater 6-0-47-0
Cole* 126 (96 balls)
Greenacre 119 (92 balls)

Ghey!

End of Over 33: 125-3, runrate=3.79
Maloney 7-0-29-2
Titterton* 35 (56 balls)
Bayliss 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Ottley lbw b. Maloney 53 (FOW: 125/3)

35.3 . Hicks to Titterton
Defended out to Umar who shines the ball and returns it to Hicks.
35.2 2 Hicks to Titterton
Solid stroke to wide mid on, misfield as they turn for the second.
35.1 4 Hicks to Titterton
Titterton uses his feet well and lofts the ball into the vacant extra cover region. Maloney chases in vain as the ball skips over the rope.

End of Over 35: 127-3, runrate=3.63
Maloney 8-0-30-2
Titterton* 37 (62 balls)
Bayliss 0 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Ottley lbw b. Maloney 53 (FOW: 125/3)

Time to start scoring, perhaps?!

36.4 2 Maloney to Titterton
Titterton didn't connect fully with the sweep but fine leg is very square and they'll scuttle back for two.
36.3 1 Maloney to Bayliss
Neatly flicked off his pads to behind square.
36.2 b1 Maloney to Titterton
That's not only beaten Titterton but Beard too! They'll pick up a bye there.
36.1 1 Maloney to Bayliss
Tossed up on the stumps, Bayliss lofts the ball in the air to the long off for a single.

End of Over 36: 137-3, runrate=3.81
Hicks 8-0-49-0
Bayliss* 3 (8 balls)
Titterton 44 (66 balls)

Last Wicket: Ottley lbw b. Maloney 53 (FOW: 125/3)

35.6 3 Hicks to Bayliss
Lofted cover drive by Bayliss. Ohhh, it's stopped like a pitching wedge short of the boundary. Bayliss will turn for a third as Ekanayake fields the ball. Great throw.....Beard receives the ball directly over the bails. Good cricket all round.
35.5 . Hicks to Bayliss
Slower delivery, played out to the deep cover fielder.
35.4 1 Hicks to Titterton
Solid defense off the back foot. Dumas is slow to react and the batsmen hurry through for a quick single.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

35.3 . Hicks to Titterton
Defended out to Umar who shines the ball and returns it to Hicks.
35.2 2 Hicks to Titterton
Solid stroke to wide mid on, misfield as they turn for the second.
35.1 4 Hicks to Titterton
Titterton uses his feet well and lofts the ball into the vacant extra cover region. Maloney chases in vain as the ball skips over the rope.

End of Over 35: 127-3, runrate=3.63
Maloney 8-0-30-2
Titterton* 37 (62 balls)
Bayliss 0 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Ottley lbw b. Maloney 53 (FOW: 125/3)

Maybe, just maybe. No ... dont be silly! We're kicking a bit early. Go at 8/9 for 15 overs and we're heading for a half decent total against the champions!

Another century for Saj, XP pop please!!!

Shaka 7-1-24-0
Botham* 59 (68 balls)

This team you playing going down B?!

Not at the moment but I reckon they're TIEing as they will more than likely have a qualifier.

That's lunch for me. Looking for some Sutherland wickets this afternoon.

My lunch too i reckon!

End of Over 41: 164-3, runrate=4.00
Grant 6-1-17-1
Bayliss* 15 (25 balls)
Titterton 58 (79 balls)

Things slowed down for a few more overs but no we are into the last 10, im sure we will kick on now. Could Titterton get to his 7th century of the season?! Time will tell.

I've made a schoolboy error and accidently set one of my batsmen, who has abysmal bowling, as opening bowler! He ended up with 0-73 off the 10 overs

Apart from that the bowlers are doing ok in only my second ever match, opponents are 247-7 after 46 overs. Expecting to get bowled out in about 20 overs as usual but at least so far there are a few positives for the future, unlike last week where i got bowled out for 38!

Just got back from preparing lunch ...

End of Over 47: 195-10, runrate=4.15
Grant 8-1-28-5
Stanton* 8 (6 balls)

BOLLOCKS!

Went GFI and Bartlett went last ball of the first over, and Flood a few overs after that, gonna score just short of 300, set my spinners to defensive, lets see what they can do.

End of Over 49: 282-3, runrate=5.76
Burns 10-0-68-0
Drury* 47 (38 balls)
Sugden 123 (126 balls)

Last Wicket: Mott b. Falken 61 (FOW: 196/3)

They ended up 270-8. Would have been well under 250 if i hadn't made that **** up but never mind!

Not expecting to get too near that total on an uneven pitch so i'm just looking for a few of my batsmen to have a half decent innings.

by george we did it... just... 4 off the last ball!

End of Over 50: 401-2, runrate=8.02
Sandford 10-0-88-0
Gadd* 59 (42 balls)
Sneath 56 (36 balls)

Last Wicket: Cole b. Jarman 146 (FOW: 305/2)

Have opened the bowling by taking a wicket after two balls!
