Moving into public ownership

On Sunday 20 July c2c train services will transition from Trenitalia UK into public ownership, formally becoming c2c Railway Limited under the control of the Department for Transport Operator (DfTO). Although our ownership will change, your tickets will not be affected and you can continue to travel with us on the same trains and same services in the usual way.

I doubt the Gov't would have been our front of shirt sponsors if Ratty and Co were still around.

I travelled on C2C all my life and considering in most part one line in and out, I will be sorry to see it in public hands. Took time but I thought the owners did a good job and considering how expensive Liv St is into London reasonable priced
Think Basildon station is having an extension in platform length, will be to cover the extra public once those ghastly flats are built
Thankfully now retired don’t have to worry about getting a seat in the mornings

My understanding is that the DfT are not best pleased with C2C's decision to sponsor us again but there are some elements they can't control, especially as the deal happened prior to public ownership. C2C did really well out it last year, especially with the Wembley final.

Even under government ownership they need to advertise c2c and the train service. This will be just one small element of its marketing budget

Basildon is just remedial works, reparing the subsidence in the down platform. We are being told we will be stopping there again with 10 and 12 set trains by Dec.. We shall see . As for the public/private ownership debate, not much will change internally or externally im afraid .

I wouldn't expect much to change in the short term, I live on the SWR line and it's basically been business as usual but with a new owner since the government took it over in May.

Misery line back in the 80's..
Totally transformed in the 90,s
Fenners to Benfleet fast on the 1/4 hour from 5 pm. in 34 mins. 12 carriages

Gradually turned to ****e when Stepney east became a stop for Docklands..
Then Barking to take the load off the district line and finally West Ham
55 mins now on a 'fast' train ?
