Callum Powell

Callum was in the players dug out on Saturday with Cav, Collin and Demi.
And he was exemplary in his contact and chat with young supporters, interested and encouraging with them.
I got the distinct impression he would be a manager's dream to work with, soaking up feedback and giving 100% for the team.
Take a bow young man, very well done.

Callum is always like that, I think he's actually quite shy which doesn't really go with the physical presence he has, but has always been a pleasure to work with on my JB stuff. It's why I was so pleased to have him as one of my JB ambassadors.

I have thought that Powell is a great player to have in the squad, he seems the consummate professional, takes care of himself, works very hard to the team even if he is limited in his ability.

Good teams should always have players like him in the squad
I wouldn’t say he’s limited in ability— far from it. The potential is there.
It’s his thought process ,that lets him down : whether to shoot first time or take a touch, whether to pass quickly or delay, or just speed past the defender.

I bumped into him in the M&S garage before the game on Saturday and asked when he was back. Not back til February apparently which is a real shame as he’s a useful option and has done well for us at times.

By the time he gets back hopefully he’ll have some more competition for his position.

I would guess if & when we can make some signings Powell will fall down the picking order can’t see him starting regularly. Especially if they fix the south stand clock or scoreboard 😄😄

In fairness it's probably because they're on his level.
