On Tuesday I gave you the details for James Linington only for Darren Sheldrake to turn up and do a better job than I would have expected. Hopefully no late changes this time.

Saturday's rather important match will be refereed by Jock Waugh from Sheffield. He is in his third season as a League referee although he missed a good chunk of last season through injury.

He has refereed Southend twice before. Firstly, at Hartlepool the season before last when we lost 3-0. The only Southend player he cautioned was Macca; unfortunately he cautioned him twice ! Then, more recently, at Accrington this season when, once again, he only cautioned one player, but cautioned him twice. This time it was an Accrington player and he also gave us an early penalty to set us up for a 2-1 win.

In his non refereeing spare time he is a member of a Sheffield-based band called Meek Joe. Unsurprisingly, given his name, he is a Scot originally from Glasgow.

This is him as you won't see him on Saturday:

..... hmm perhaps that's how he got injured last season !

His card count in those games he did last season was low. This season he is just the right side of average with 47 yellows and 3 reds from 17 games including a couple of Championship matches.

Assistants are Rob Hyde from East London and Mark Russell from Bristol with Mark Pottage from Wincanton as 4th official.

The Assessor for this match is Kevin Ingram MBA,MCMI,MILT,MIEx,Eslog's from Kingswinford in the West Midlands.

PS One of the officials for next weeks Cup replay is Scott Oldham !

Cue line from Granty: "But ref, I've seen you do bigger dives than that!!!"
