This is our most challenging remaining game. A draw would be an outstanding result for us. We will be really well up for it and I'm sure will give a great account of ourselves.

Losing away to Chesterfield won't be an issue though. They are runaway leaders for a reason.

It will be less challenging, but more difficult, to maintain our high standards against the likes of Maidenhead or Wealdstone on a wet Tuesday night at their grounds.....

Out of the 70 votes cast so far, 46 of us think we won't lose! A high vote of confidence against the league leaders.

I really hope we play to our highest standards today as I'm tired of reading on their board that we were lucky when we played them in November and that our pitch was appalling. Maybe it's selective memory on my part, but I thought the playing surface was ok and we just didn't give them a chance with Kev and Co's tactics.

They've obviously done very well so far this season and I don't begrudge them success, but I also hope we turn them well and truly over at their gaff and take the bragging rights.

Underestimate us at your peril Chesterfield! Yellows, Yellows, Yellows.

In preparation for today’s journey, yesterday I watched the recording of our home game against them, the pitch was absolutely fine!
In fairness I thought it was a fairly even game, but they weren’t allowed to dominate us like they do other teams.
We won’t sit back again today, the only buses parked will be in the car park.

Gutted to be missing this as I am stuck at work and will be in bed at Kick Off.
Will give GYS Jnr bragging rights at work if we get to beat them, which I'm sure we are capable of doing.

The comment on their board that we can't play any better and they cant play any worse is the one that makes me laugh.

We literally didn't have a team lol

I really hope we win today.

Obviously we will get the inevitable. "We don't need the points etc"

Cmon blues

Will be listening in partly in fear and trepidation

Apart from playing the league leaders we have only won one match
after a 2 week lay off over the past 4 seasons. The 2 week lay off is fairly rare. Only 7 in 4 years. We lost 4 of these, drew 2 and only one won

Is it that 2 weeks off totally refreshes the parts and the desire or does it make you short of game pace and time?

Obviously Im hoping all the good news , the new faces, the high spirits will call us forward, but our history on breaks from the game is poor

Yours, Cheerful Charlie Chester

Do we know if we have the drum today.
Imo, it makes a big difference for the 12th man.

If we win today we will get in the play offs, I just have a feeling.

My thought, for what it's worth, is that we need to get through the first twenty minutes without conceding. Having not played a competitive game for two weeks, we'll need to get up to speed very quickly or we risk getting punished. Looking forward to this, It should be a really good match. It's certainly not the game I would have wished for following an enforced break but a really good test of our aspirations for the rest of the season.

Looked at train tickets but with the rail replacements and needing to work couldn’t make this one but tempted to try a VPN for this, big game to see where we’re really at in terms of quality for next year, if we don’t squeeze up this.

What's the reason for this one being called off, Spire finally fallen over? Someone spilt a cup of tea in the concourse and flooding on the pitch now a real risk?
