Most of those games were off the bench, if you sum up the minutes he played for us in the NL he only played the equivalent of 14.5 matches, with a goal scored every 327 minutes, which is very similar to Harry Cardwell (goal every 329 minutes).
 
I may be wrong, but he seemed to me to be another one of those players with a good career in front of him, has a lot going for him, but cant be arsed. Time will tell i guess.
