With West Ham signing Konchevsky his future at the shammers looks pretty bleak. He would still be a tremendous signing for us as we make our transition to league 1. He is worth the money in wages - he can play football and defend and would add considerable experience to a young team. I know he has played for us before, but he is still more than good enough and there must be a small part of him that is tempted. He wouldn't need to relocate and there must be scope for coaching the youth, particularly after the departure of McClaren. The Powell for Southend band wagon has started rolling again.....hopefully distracting us from this striker crisis that seems to monopolise the boards!!

Don't be surprised to see Chrissy move on in January if he's not getting a game at the Shammers - whether it'll be to us though I doubt, think he said "never say never" and that he had some of the best times of his career at Roots Hall but he firmly believed in "never going back."
