OK, folks - the first City Shrimpers of 2005 has now been fixed, so put it in your diaries. Hope to see as many of you Shrimpers who work in London as possible for a beer and a natter!

Date: Friday, 18th February 2005
Time: 5.30 pm onwards
Venue: The Counting House
Location: Cornhill, EC3

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, and meeting some new ones!

Will we need to wear flowers in our lapels to recognise each other?

Nah, look for a rotund, 31 year-old, Harry Potter look-a-like in a blue-and-white check shirt.

Can't imagine there'll be too many of those in there...!!

The temptation to say "OK Scott, it's a Pink Panther gathering", and then to have you as the only person in the pub in a 6'2" feline outfit, is considerable...

C'mon, that ain't funny... I can't help it if the poor deluded souls who live in my part of town haven't seen the light, and become disciples in the army of Shrimperdom...

Time for you to run out into the streets of Depford Matt and Preach this - If you aint back in an hour I assume you have been beaten to a bloody pulp!

Much as I'd like to, I've got a few hours left behind my desk...

Cool, i'd probably be travelling on my own after work!

Would be good to meet a fellow Blue on the way to the meet up!

Will you be going to Liverpool Street?

The thing is Shrimperzone is strange in the way that you prob know alot of faces from here at the games, but you dont know who they are

Good point!

I'm certainly hoping that will help me on the recognition front... the strains and chuckles which usually accompany "There's only one Harry Potter" or "Sit Down, Harry!" may well mean that there's a few on here who may recognise me from the South Upper.

Of course, there are then those poor souls (and there are plenty of 'em) who have had the misfortune of meeting me...!

Not sure I have, mate... looking forward to it on 18th.

You'll regret it ...

And for the record, i won't be there. I work, live and relax in Shoebury. I only venture out if i need to drink, watch football or go to the casino.

So what do you think we will be doing in a pub?? Playing scrabble.

Just admit your Mummsie will not let you travel all that way to London on your own.
