I can’t speak for all Col U fans but the best I can offer you is sympathy for your inability to use capital letters appropriately.

As for the wider club I’m genuinely pleased for your fanbase. For most of my time on this site I’ve been advocating action against Ron for what he was doing to your club so I’m relieved that parasite will shortly be a former chairman before he could deliver a fatal blow of incompetence or vindictiveness

I view Col U the same way I viewed the opposition when I played Rugby.

I'd mix with them, indeed I have some Col U mates, at the end of the day they are just supporting their club, it just happens to be our closest rivals. When we play them and as soon at the players walk across that white line I wish everything to go against them, hope we win...by shedloads and wish them no luck or goodwill for the next 2 hours ish, as my mates do to me.

However at the end of the game, hopefully we've won and I can take the pi$$, as they will to me.

However, times like, this when we are not even in the same division, they're not on my radar and are insignificant.

However, it's a totally different case for Bromley, Woking, Boreham Wd, Dagenham............

Don't get the pettiness.
I'd rather Col U stay up and we, once again, have two EFL clubs in Essex.
I will always respect Col U and their fans a million times more than any plastic Hamster, Spuds or Arsenal fan based in Essex.
I went to all our away games there between 69-77, & 2 in 2005 LDV 1st leg final, & league 1 game a couple of years later. But have never considered them as rivals. I don't look for their results every week, couldn't care less. Gillingham also come into that equation, although technically they are just a few miles across the Thames.
I'm more envious of Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth & Watford, who in 'my day' were considered more of a rival, than the club up the A12 en route to Ipswich.

This is my take on it as well.
Anyone who sticks with their local team rather that gravitating to the so called 'Big teams' is due respect. Never could understand the animosity towards any supporter of a so called 'smaller' team.

Don't Get me wrong Guys and Gals. Some people on here are having a pop at me
I am just having a little bit of Banter. I am not suggesting they are going down, I can't wait for the Essex Derbies to start again asap.
I live here in Maldon and know a few Col Ewe Supporters also living here, Gt Totham, Tiptree etc.

They along with many others, supported us in our plight. I can't hate them but that rivalry will always remain, and the Essex Derby will hopefully be back on the cards soon.

Incidentally, has anyone seen or heard from @Colchester and proud! recently? There's a really decent Col U supporter who has been on this forum for years and right behind us in our fight. Not seen any posts for some time and I do hope he's ok.

Football rivalry is a huge part of what makes our game so great, and our rivalry with that lot down the A12 is fierce and long may that continue. Being back in the UK for the Boxing Day win at their place a few years ago was one of my best days ever.

Personally though if Col U went through what we have I’d have empathy with them and wish them all the best to get through the other side of it and still have a club intact (as I did when Orient had their ownership troubles). I’m sure the majority of normal Col U fans (keyboard warriors aside) feel the same way.

Off the pitch we have far more in common with their fans and fans of other clubs like them than with any number of glory hunters.

That Premiershite rubbish leaves me cold…..let’s see who’s got the most money to over inflate the wages and buy the worthless trophy?
Col U, Southend on BBC Essex on a Saturday is worth it’s weight in gold compared to that hot air rubbish and long may the rivalry continue, preferably in the same division!
