COL EWE FANS FEELING UNEASY! SOUTHEND UNITED ARE ON THE WAY BACK!

No chance. You are going to have to go some to sink as low as forest green and Sutton. I think those 2 will save you this season, but really need to sort your **** out for next seaosn as suspect it will be tougher down the bottom.
Is it just bad managerial appointments, or issues higher up the chain?
The fans think so many managers have failed it must be higher up the line of command, the club seems to struggle year after year despite having what looks a decent squad. Admittedly this season our team has been hit heavily by injuries especially in defence, we have already conceded the same number of goals as we did the whole of last season! I think Matt Etherington could lose his job soon if results don’t improve, the next appointment will be very important.

After listening to the Southend game on BBC Essex they seem to think Etherington could be on his way this week.

I've heard that a few times over the last few years.

Don't Get me wrong Guys and Gals. Some people on here are having a pop at me
I am just having a little bit of Banter. I am not suggesting they are going down, I can't wait for the Essex Derbies to start again asap.
I live here in Maldon and know a few Col Ewe Supporters also living here, Gt Totham, Tiptree etc.
I Grew Up in Southend, They are My Team for Life. COYB,UTB
They're not, not really, isn't it all just banter too?

Your not wrong LB it is getting beyond ridiculous, I think the real answer is a shake up behind the scenes and possibly a new owner but I can’t see that happening any time soon. Robbie Cowling has owned the club since 2007 and it has been downhill ever since despite him spending millions to keep us afloat.

I’m not at all surprised to see Sutton where they are. They have non-league written all over them. In contrast,FGR are an excellently-run club and ,though I can’t say I like him,I think Troy Deeney has the makings of a very good manager—good enough to finally put Colchester down to their more appropriate level.

Just sacked Etherington!IMG_6347.jpeg

Wonder if this will affect the signing of the striker they were due to give a medical tomorrow?

Phil Brown's yo man then !

With all respect, i doubt he would be attending your games without a future involvement?.
But him & his brother are a pair where ever they manage, so IF your chairman appoints them, it will cost him considerably more than so far?.
You never know, he may have just been catching up on a few teams because he thinks he is in a line for a job in league two elsewhere. Yes they may be expensive to employ but probably not as costly as dropping out of the EFL! Mind you we would be in a pickle if we took them on and still went down……

Gareth Ainsworth was a pundit on Sky Sheffield. Wed. game he would be a decent shout, he wouldn’t bring the baggage that the Cowleys would.

We were appalling today, and Etherington getting the boot was the only real outcome. I don't have an axe to grind with Robbie Cowling particularly - I think he largely has the best interests of the club at heart. I think the "back office" structure could do with a shake-up though - Cowling needs to step back from the "day to day"decision-making, we could do with someone to take on a CEO role in the mould of your own Tom Lawrence (note I say in the mould of, I'm not advocating the man himself!).

The Cowley's seem to divide opinion, but they do have a pedigree at this level.
