I'll add my name too.

I've a 20 month old little girl called Freya.

Game up full time work to enjoy her more which has been fantastic as i'll never get the time again.
Been working only 3 days per week ( the missus works one day ) for a year and have been at all the important things.
I've taken her for her first swim, playgroup, farm, zoo, beach etc....never missed a single thing and i'm a better man for it.

First swim at 20 months!! Thats impressive, took me that long to get ours in the bath without her screaming the house down. Obviously a 21st century dad who wants to cherish her early years. Couldn't agree more. Just had the first pre-school day last Monday and was the only dad there. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Hi all just to let you know, i've not long been back from the Hospital and welcomed or new Shrimper into the world!

TTK Junior 'Tomas Edward' was born Tuesday 5th September 2006 at approx 2227, via emergency ceaserean section.

He weighed in at a very healthy 7lb 11oz. Mother and little Shrimper doing just fine.

We're both over the moon and cannot believe it

The first cries when baby appeared were unbelievable!

The birth is trully so magical and wonderful, it just hasn't sunk in yet.

I've now got to get my head around sorting it out a season ticket in the near future

Just hope it doesn't wanna go watch another team

Her first swim was at 9 weeks !!!!!

She has gone every week since then.

She at 20 months can float, lie on her back and kick her legs / move her arms.
Seems unbelievable but don't forget this is Australia and this is the norm.

Yep congrats to TTK and family.

With regards swimming I know in England most pools do run and a mother and baby group to get babies used to the water and it's surroundings, at this stage they are not taught to swim just to be comfortable in the water and find it fun. They accept babies from 6 months. My daughter used to go to them until her Nursery clashed with the class. So as at the time the wife was also pregnant with the boy, her swimming ended up being suspended until this year when we take them both to Clements on a Sunday.

Unlike in Australia where swimming is a major past time, parents in Blighty tend to forget to get the kids taught at an early age although it is a critical life skill.

So my suggestion is to try to get them signed up asap as the limited classes are very popular.

Big congrats to TKK and family.

Guess i should keep a check on this thread as my first is due November 20th

all advice givrn would be greatly recieved

Absolutely - big congrats to Tony, and welcome to young Tomas! Look forward to seeing him down the Hall before too long!
