It really was a different era back then, those accusing were 15 to 29 according to that! A lot of men thought they were God's gifts and acted accordingly, particularly if they were in the public eye. Saw it myself even with lesser actors at the Palace Theatre, girls throwing themselves at them and sometimes being taken advantage of. Part of the reason I've never got so drunk that I've not known what I was doing.

He's no Jimmy Savile.

I agree 100% with you Kay, having DJ'ed at The Alpha and TOTS in the 70's, even at that small height of fame, women were easy and basically threw themselves at you.

I was talking to DDV a few months ago about it and we both agreed, although without obvious knowledge we must of stepped over the mark at some point.

Absolutely, and don't forget the advent of the pill becoming widely available around that time too, that had an effect!
 
It makes you wonder what sort of perv you would have to be to not get a job at Radio one in those days.
