Local artist Paul Karslake passed away today. R.I.P

A very talented family. His dad had a scooter museum and rode one around the world. His mum could make anything out of wicker and his sister married a certain Ronnie Wood. Paul himself was a brillient air brush artist amongst over things.

Lovely all-round entertainer - probably making more Huddlines with June Whitfield right now, bless 'em.

Attended a recording of the New Huddlines in the late 70's, Roy plus Janet Brown and Chris Emmett (where he now?) Very funny, lots of ad-libbing and ongoing attempts at putting each other off their lines. Happy times.

Songwriter Bill Martin has died aged 81. Bill, along with his writing partner Phil Coulter penned the winning Eurovision UK entry Puppet on a String, and Congratulation which came second the following year.

The duo are best know in the football world for writing one of the greatest ever football songs, IMO anyway, Back Home for the England 1970 World Cup Squad.

The tune was also used for Baddiel and Skinner's Fantasy Football show in the 1990s.
