Did Fredy play against us...

Sorry if this has cropped up before but.....

I was trawling through some old programmes (trying to find the old Universal Cycles ad - W4 Shrimperette didn't believe me that an ad more tacky than the current Muddy Fox one could exist) when I stumbled across the one for West Ham vs Southend in the FA Youth Cup from 2000.

In the West Ham squad for the game was a young Fredy Eastwood, as well as Glen Johnson (now of Chelsea).

Does anyone know if either played in the game? I remember we lost 3-0, all the goals coming in what felt like the first five minutes!

I'll look it up. I went to that game, I think we were 3-0 in something like 15 minutes, Glen Johnson with a hat-trick of headers from corners!

Aftere that we were the best side!

For "tacky" read also "gratuitous".
Jury's still out as to which is the worst advert. I think Muddy Fox may just have nudged it

I found one of my progs had been disfigured - my son had cut out and made off with the Universal ad! I just don't see the need for something like that in a family programme. And yes, I think the Muddy Fox just wins in the naff stakes!
