Egypt football violence

Not much to say mate, this has nothing to do with football and plenty to do with last years "Arab springs" which will do little more than hand the reins of power to extremists who want to drag the whole world down to living in caves.

I'm not going to pretend I know everything about this because I have only seen bits on the news but what I find strange is the fact that it was a football match of which at the end home supporters went onto the pitch and attacked the team players and there 1k or so fans.

But then some how this have turned into nothing to do with football but to with being againt the police/military. Makes no sense to me at all how they have just suddenly changed their mind and blame the authorities. Maybe I don't fully understand the in's and out's but I don't see how the police are to blame for them attacking rival fans at a football match.

Real MKs post matty .. it was politically motivated, the football ground was just a very convenient meeting point for the insurgants to gather

The security didn't open the gates to let the fleeing fans out, resulting in a Hillsborough-esque crush in the concourse. Some are suggesting that the police/authorities maybe did this on purpose. Some are saying that there was a massive lack of security at the game (which regularly kicks off). Some are saying the game should have been called off due to earlier problems/pitch invasions.

Looks like a huge ****-up IMO.

Well as I say I'm not pretending to know everything about it because I don't but I agree that it all seems very strange to me.

Good to see that your coment is very lacking in coment it self, any death is a waste and affects many, family friends but any death for a politcal reason is a double waste and even worse when it is watching your team play, politics like religon should be banned or at least forced underground.

That is,of course,a political opinion or comment,in itself.:winking:
(Like other posters on this thread I don't really feel I know enough about the situation to comment, though I've heard/seen the same information as Pubey).
