Really against the declaring situation of a first innings like that. Unless you hitting 500+
 
Pretty much game over now. Bangladesh are 7 down batting under lights, the ball is turning for the spinners Rashid and Moeen Ali

Declaring when they did was fine and enabled them to bowl NZ out cheaply in the first innings. The more debatable decision was to enforce the follow-on with their current attack.

England’s attack as it’s currently constituted - three and a bit seamers (two of whom are over 35) and a very average spinner - aren’t going to be able to take the workload of back-to-back innings. Anderson’s 2nd innings average the last 5 years is significantly higher than in the opponent’s first innings and with Stokes unable to bowl much he may be better served giving his attack more of a rest by having a second knock. Given England’s scoring rate they aren’t going to be pushed for time very often.

Yeh I agree the follow on shouldn’t have happened but they way it went it would if more than likely ended a draw lol
