i'd definitely stick with southendunited.com far more reliable, i think they get their news from shrimperzone a lot of the time! and we all know how silly, "silly season" can be...

I read it when Im at work, but I would never pay for it! Most of the stuff they print is absoulte nonsense.

It's a good read- especially today as I am using the classifieds to sell a martial arts/ boxing canvas punch bag with wall bracket and chains etc for £40.00

its good for local news but southend united news its abit way off, the odd interview is good, but that is often taken from the club website, so you know!if i didnt have access to the net i would definitely purchase the number 1 in essex.

we used to get the echo but it got thinner and thinner and i swear at one point it had about 10pages... southendunited.co.uk and sz for my southend fix

I think it's a lot better than it used to be. Chris does a decent job and, rightly or wrongly, they often break news before the OS does. No complaints from me.

I have noticed with recent issue's that they seem to focus alot more on Wet Spam than they do the mighty blues.

I'd rather have the Echo than the Chronicle, How any paper can justify 5 pages of Chelmsford City every week is beyond me!! Only buy it when I score on a Sunday (so twice this season lol)

Pre internet forum days it was The source of blues news, not everyone has internet so said yes

It's rubbish for the following reasons:

SUFC news seems to be lifted from here or the official site.

In general, the 'world news' they print which is usually 2-3 days late.

The journalism is poor.

There's no page 3 doris.

I'm still waiting for my Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger cinema ticket from a Junior Echo club competition I entered in 1977.

For these reasons we should all boycott The Echo.

Think you'll actually find it's the other way round. Hence why the Evening Echo had the story about signing four players in the paper this morning, and the official site then updated around 11am...
