Heading to the Bernabeu to see Real Madrid take on Las Palmas on Saturday.

Barcelona only managed a pathetic 0-0 draw tonight away at third division Villanovense in the Copa del Rey, albeit with a weakened line up.

Enjoy the Bernabeu (I've never been).I'll be watching the (not so) mighty Espanyol take on Granada.

Barça will fill their boots in the second leg, unfortunately.

MSN on fire with Messi back, Madrid and Perez in "crisis", looks like these few weeks could be title defining, with Atletico looking like more of a challenger than Real.

See they got a litle help from Espanyol today too.:'(
They've done a lot better than expected by some so far this season though! Did well to keep it at 1-0 after going down so early on as well. Got my work placement a company in Cornella from February so will definitely be making a trip to see them at some point late on in the season I think!

Cornellà is not a very lovely part of the world but the Power 8 stadium is a very special place (still the most modern in Spain I believe).

Edit.I'd imagine Bilbo's new stadium is in fact more recent.

Nuno now gone at Valencia, claiming to have decided to go before their atrocious performance at Sevilla last night with two red cards. Phil Neville reportedly taken over as caretaker for the time being.

Hoping to avoid it other than work and any trips to see Espanyol! The stadium certainly looks modern, went to the old Olympic ground when they were there on a school trip a few years ago, think that was the last season they were there. The new San Memes is certainly very impressive.

Saw Espanyol get a well deserved 1-0 victory earlier this evening againt a poor Las Palmas team, courtesy of a great team goal.

Espanyol've got some interesting games coming up in January with the local deby against Barça (on 2nd Jan),which I'll see, plus away/home Copa del Rei derby games against their Catalan rivals too.

Should be interesting.

Benítez out, Zidane in.

(I.e. that is about to happen. This isn't me requesting it)
Harsh on Rafa but far from unexpected. Wonder if he'll be approached to take over from Gary Neville at Valencia.

Will be interesting to see if Zidane is given the job permanently or until the end of the season so they can get a big name experienced manager in.

Just mentioned by that spanish pundit on Sky Sports news, that he is gone. No confirmed mention though of his replacement at this stage.
Apperantly Mourinho was asked or offered (to some extent by the chairman) but the players did not want him back, however, the chairman holds hope, that he will return to Real Madrid in the near future. Possible smoke screen for Zidane as you mention, or a return for Ancelotti?

Yeah its confusing, from what im getting the board want Mourinho back but the players (and some fans dont)... the Fans want Zidane if it was a new manager, (but the board thinks he isnt capable to manage Real Madrid, due to his lack of his experience).... and also the fans think Ancelotti is their ideal choice as they think there is unfinished business there.. (but the board again, dont seem to keen).

Also lots of speculation, that Rafa knew it was on the cards, and he will walk straight into the Valencia role keepiing Gary Neville on as assitant manager. Sounds very probable to me, given their premier league connections and history.

Ancelotti has agreed a deal to take over at Bayern at the end of the season when Pep leaves.

A lot of speculation linking Mourinho with a return, but unless Florentino plans to bring him in in the summer and get rid of Ronaldo, Ramos, Benzema, etc early in the summer then I can't see it happening. Strongly disliked by a lot of the players who played under him and most of the staff who are still there who weren't part of "his" team. Even if he does come back, I'm sure he'll be gone again as soon as Florentino loses the elections.

Zidane new coach.

That surprised me, considering all the dross they spouted about him not having enough experience and only had his badges for 2 years etc..

To be honest, i was never his biggest fan (thought he was talented but a tad arrogant, like ibrahimovic... also him being french(ish) didnt really win me over ) so i wouldnt shed a tear if he was sacked by easter.
