LOL.

He'll win them round because he's a great player.RM fans (like Barças) are notoriously fickle and always sit on their hands until they're a couple of goals up.

Agreed. The Bernabéu is a wonderful arena but if I was ever looking to watch a game in Madrid, I'd always go for Atleti ahead of Real, the fans are so much more fun to be around. Or even Rayo Vallecano if I wanted somewhere really grotty

Great result for Espanyol tonight.2-0 against Valencia in the Copa del Rei.Through to the QF's.

And of course I couldn't be there because of work.

Great win at home yesterday by Espanyol 3-0 against Almeria. In what has been quite a fortnight or so for the club.

Hopefully the wheels won't come off on Thursday.

Pepe Mel is back and, whisper it, Real Betis are looking good for a return to Primera. Still plenty of time for the wheels to come off though.

Congratulations to El Athletic. They were clearly the better team on the night.:'(

Here's hoping they go on to beat Barça in the final.

Saw Espanyol's 0-0 draw with Atlético de Madrid yesterday (at the same time as we were playing the Daggers).

Bill Shankly once called Saint's "an alehouse team." Wonder what he would have made of AM?

One of their players -Miranda -was rightly sent off for a mid-air punch ("leading with his arm") on Abraham (who's just been let out of hospital and was subbed at HT).

Last season AM were playing the best football in Spain. This season they're just a bunch of thugs.

I think Bill Shankly or anyone would have admired this excellent Atleti team who took Chelsea apart last season and continually beat their neighbours Real. They are a team of the people who have outperformed way beyond their means.
If you kick them, they kick back.

Ha!They got their retaliaton in first throughout the 90+minutes.Easily the most physical side I've seen in La Liga (this season and last).

Perhaps someone can tell me why three out of the top 4 teams in La Liga are in the QF draw for the Champions League but no Prem.clubs are?
