Just thought I'd set up a news thread for next year.

Kimi Raikkonen joins Renault, which mean that all the world champions from the last 12 years are now in F1. That's only six of them but it's still a quarter of the grid.

New dedicated F1 Channel too!
With the promise of no adverts during the race.
Sky have improved coverage of every sport they have taken on, what else will they bring to F1?

Martin Brundle has moved to Sky to head up the commentary.

After various people calling him a traitor, he said he is commited to F1, not any particular channel, and that he gets the thrill and adrenaline from commentating on live races, something he felt he wouldnt get from pre-recoreded races.

For next Season, Renault will be known as Lotus, and Lotus as Caterham.

The Renault/Lotus reserve/test driver is set be be a woman.

Completely fair comments from Brundle. It's a shame that the beeb hasnt retained their coverage, because this years coverage has been exceptional. Their team and commentary had been superb and it was the definite highlight of an otherwise poor season. I think sky's coverage next year does had some potential.

Have to agree with you there. Poor season but the beebs coverage has been a good enjoyable watch, especially Eddie Jordan's crazy shirts. Coulthard is a very good addition to the team and think he has a very good and long career in the F1 set up ahead of him. Still not overly keen on Jake but he is tolerable.

6 world champions on the grid lined up for next season. With a possible 7th if you throw Villeneuve into the hat. Pleased to see Raikkonen back. Always a controversial driver and brings a bit of entertainment. His crash out in Monaco springs to mind when he crashed out early and about 30 minutes later he was on a boat partying with his mates.

Surprised at the choice of Lotus's reserve driver, thought that Danica Patrick would be the next female to jump into an F1 seat. Don't really know a lot about this new lass but hope it goes well for her.

Looking forward to see all the rest of the teams once they have selected all their drivers etc. And be interesting to see if Austin can pull their act together and show the monies for Bernie to give it the go ahead. He has extended their deadline by another 2 weeks.

Roman Grosjean has taken the 2nd seat at Lotus for next season. Beating off Senna and Petrov for the place.

Adrian Sutil dumped by Force Indian with Paul Di Resta retained as the 2nd driver with Niko Hulkenburg.

Torro Rosso confirm a completely new line up of drivers as they state that Algersauri and Buemi have become experienced and they are a training school.

Talks underway for an Argentinian Grand Prix for 2014.

Various sources are indicating that Fernando Alonso has been sounded out by Red Bull, and that if Ferrari are once again not seriously in the running next season, he will take the seat that Mark Webber will vacate. 2013 would be very interesting if that's how it turned out.

That would be an interesting line up for Redbull if true. They are talking about Robert Kubica driving for Ferrari in 2013.

It is still unknown if Sky F1 will be available on Virgin and/or BT vision

On Sky, Sky F1 will be channel 408.

I would suggest following the Skysports F1 twitter account, is rather up to the minute!

Senna favourite for second Williams seat

Petrov could still take Trulli's seat as well apparently @ Caterham

Rubens with no-where to go, and unlikely to want to take the HRT seat
