After today's results we have the best defensive record in League 2, just 10 goals conceded in 12 games. Could this be the key to success this season?

Personally thought Kiernan was fantastic last night and looks a much stronger player than Prosser.

Chesterfield and Scunthorpe had conceded 9 and 8 respectively before today but both have shipped a few this afternoon. Can't quite believe it after having watched the defensive shambles against Dagenham!

Next four games against Daggers, Newport, Mansfield and Exeter should tell us a lot about our promotion hopes

We could have said that even more so 3 games ago... I doubt there would be anyone, players and staff included, that thought we would come away with 9 points from Oxford and Burton away and Fleetwood at home.

Personally I don't think the next 4 will tell us anything at all about our promotion hopes. This division is one where clearly everyone is going to beat everyone else. Only 3 points separate the top 9. In two games time, it is quite conceivable that we could be top and Chesterfield 9th. It will be a crazy season and I suspect - certainly as far as play off places go - we have a tense, nailbiting affair right through to May, which makes for fantastic entertainment and is how it should be.

Not bad considering we can't defend set pieces! Lol

Id like to know the stats for conceding from set pieces.

Maybe we arent actually that bad at them, but we conced so few goals they stand out more.

If you take out the keystone cops defending from the Morcambe game we have barely conceded from open play.

Apart from the Morecambe game, the only league goal conceded from open play has come against Bristol Rovers IIRC.

I would like to know what percentage of goals scored come from set pieces, especially in League 2.

The set piece goals at div2 level is very high. Corners besides nearly all free kicks are slung in the box, leading to mistakes at the back at our level.

Chesterfield 2 goals, 1 free kick, 1 corner
Wycombe 2 goals, 1 free kick, 1 corner
Morecambe 3 goals, all open play
Scunthorpe 1 goal, open play
Bury 1 goal, Free Kick
Bristol Rovers 1 open play

10 goals, 1 direct free kick, 2 from corners and 2 from free kicks, 5 from open play
