Focus on ......... Gateshead

Gateshead face Boston who are in good form and not yet safe.
Altrincham are away at Dagenham who will be relegated if they don't win.
Halifax welcome Braintree who can still be relegated if they fail to get a point in their last 2 games.

We obviously welcome Wealdstone who may go into the game in the relegation zone and will be a difficult test.
If we fail to win Saturday and Gateshead win, then it's over. But if Gateshead lose and we win then likely a draw on the final day would be enough to get us in the play offs.

Its a mental end to the season for all of the national leagues.

Not if Halifax also lose. Granted its not in our hands but it wouldn't technically be over. Would just be relying on Wealdstone on the last day of the season to win against Halifax and us having to win against Gateshead.

Most of the Boston fans on their forum are predicting a win or a draw against Gateshead. One chap wrote:

"A lot more nervy this game with that point slipping away late on at Solihull.
The penalty really killed us and there was only 1 team looking like pinching it in the last 20 minutes. Also we had absolutely no height in the team after the subs and the long throw was an accident waiting to happen against a big side like them. Had we held on we'd have only needed any dropped points from Dagenham or realistically 1 loss by Wealdstone. Now Dagenham could overtake us with 4pts as well as Wealdstone with 1 win. Probably we need one point just to be sure."

You had better beat them, Pilgrims........

As it’s a 5:30 kick off, I’m going for 2-0 win!
Our record against teams like Wealdstone, that on paper we should beat, isn't great. Hopefully we'll get an early goal - otherwise we could spend a long time passing it around the midfield trying to find a way through. I'm very much about dealing with Wealdstone before thinking about Gateshead - don't trust us enough to take 3 points for granted.

Gateshead and Halifax are both on shocking runs and are there for the taking if we don't bottle it over the next two games.

Altringham will be thinking exactly the same, and after watching the Heads goalie in action against Hartlepool we really shouldn't be too worried about getting a result against them on the final match of this season.

We all know Wealdstone will be the real test because our record against these type of sides, in front of a big crowd aren't exactly great, but I have a feeling a draw on Saturday and win last game may just squeeze us into that 7th spot which just goes to show the lack of quality in this NL.

If we do scrape into the play offs, then the likes of Oldham, Dale and FGR won't fancy getting as at all with our partisan away crowd, and better records against the teams that tend to play football against us rather than stick 9 men behind the ball, whilst feigning the most ridiculous injuries known to man (or women).

The Braintree keeper wasting time in the first half when it was 0-0 just summed these type of sides up.

Even if we don't win the play-offs if would be great just to experience a winner takes all game in the last day, I for one will be taking the long drive if it goes down to that, will be fantastic.

IF we make it, the games we're have to play will both be on weekday nights, & although i'm sure we're have support in numbers at wherever, the amount will be somewhat less than a Saturday game?.
I may be wrong here, but in previous seasons both play off games before the final are during the same week, only 3 days apart?.
