Unbelievable night again! What a team we have, with such a never give up and never say die attitude. So pleased for Kev and the staff, despite everything to get us to Wembley. Remarkable! COYB
Well said.Jack Bridge…
Not had a great season but steps up and scores the most important goal for years to take us to pens.
Coolly scored his pen tonight
Does a lot of community work, Junior Blues, etc.
Stayed with us through the awful times without a contract
A player that will go down in our history
Haye almost saved a penalty…My first two thoughts were:
1. We've just won a penalty shootout and I've still never seen Hayes save one!
2. Those FGR fans who I could hear singing "1-0 and you ****ed it up" were a bit premature, which is exactly what I shouted at the TV when I heard them.
I know I did. I was still recovering from Walker taking one. They thought it was all over... but it never is with Southend. What a quality bit of play from Jack Bridge for his goal. So pleased for him. And when Gubbins stepped up to take a penalty, how many of us thought WTF..... another good decision by Kev. Everyone at the club deserved tonight's win... players, management, fans and of course COSU. Thank you COSU.
Try shaking a packet of Dreamies, worked getting our one out!Does anyone know how to get a cat out from behind a sofa as he hid there when I screamed as Gus scored & won't come out.

Was Justin there tonight? If so, I hope they'll be someone to see him safely home following the celebration!Quick word to the owners, who took this club on debts and all. They have given us a chance of a day like this, when we all thought we wouldn't even have a club at all.
Me too. Will have to find a bar showing it.I am on holiday for the final.![]()
And I'm 4 days after my final chemo session, so for obvious health reasons won't be able to be there either.I am on holiday for the final.![]()
I'd be incredibly surprised. This is a bum league and you have two well supported former league teams in final47,000 record attendance for a NL playoff final
Surely us an Oldham can beat this!
Exactly how I felt.I have to say that with 4 minutes of extra time left and 2-1 down I thought for the first time that we'd run our race.
However even after our first penalty had been saved I still felt we would do it. And when the BBC Radio commentator said Hayes was behind the goal supping on his water bottle memories tumbled back to Dan Bentley and his antics in the Wycombe Wanderers shoot out.
At that point in my mind it was never in doubt.![]()
It was nice of DAZN to treat us to a total of probably 10 minutes of footage of him sat in the stands wasn’t it!Have never liked cotteril but he surpassed himself tonight - the wally with the iPad
