A sneak late run from Robert Kubica I recon ;), then next year the best pound for pound F1 driver will win it for the 3rd time!

Alonso is a great driver, probably the best on the circuit... but he is damaged goods and I don't think Renault will be championship competitive next season

I have it on good authority from my good friend Flavio Briatore (flies in and out of Southend quite often.) that when questioned about the 2009 car he said 'Hang on to your seats'. It will be one hell of a car and Alonso WILL be champion.

With that info, I'm going to put my money on Herbet ;)

Whoever wins in China between Massa and Hamilton will win the Championship. However, Hamilton I feel will crack under the pressure again. I think Lewis would have more chance if chasing rather than leading. But then again the lad is only 22 and one day he will be Champion .Whether it is this year wil remain to be seen.

As for Alonso again he is starting to show why he is a great driver although being helped by stupid mistakes by Hamilton and co. He is still a arrogant **** though.

As for Kubica a great season and will def be there again next season. I feel one of 6 drivers can win it next season if they have the right cars. As for now it is anyones title and China will prove who is worthy or not

Kubica out, down to just Hamilton and Alonso with Hamilton needing to finish 5th place or higher to take the title, my money is on Lewis.

Don't mean to **** on all of your parades but wasn't Hamilton in exactly the same position last season ;).

I tell you what if he messes it up this time then he really is never going to win it. But I know everyone knows my opinons of the bloke but I think he will do it. But I am afraid he won't retain it next year as it will be going back to Fernando Alonso :)

S'long as Hamilton finishes ahead of Massa, he's got it in the bag, the only stumbling block is that it's Massa's home GP.

Yes he was in the same position but he had a nightmare in China and his head wasn't right going into the last race. This time he ****ed all over Ferrari in China and he seems totally in control to me.

what a stupid thing to say! If he messes it up I'm sure he'll come back stronger. Senna was 28 when he one his first championship, 4 years into his F1 career and he is still seen as the most naturally talented driver ever. Schumacher was 25 when he was first champion and Alonso was the youngest at 24 so I hope that puts into perspective how talented Hamilton is, and how he still has plenty of years ahead. Alonso is a great driver, I just wish you would stop this personal pettiness against Hamilton as you are missing out on enjoying such a natural talent (and he is British!)

Alonso wont win it next year. Renault aren't even the third best team this year (almost 50 points behind BMW) so i think the gap will be far to much to close in on Ferrari and Mclaren.

definitely, although I think next season is going to be exciting with BMW, Toyota, Renault and maybe even *snigger* Honda making big improvements in their cars. One thing to keep your eye on is the rumours about standard parts (especially engines) potentially being used by all teams as part of cost-saving

shouldn't Ferrari be docked points for using team orders? This has been forbidden for about 6 years now! Or is this a case of yet again the FIA ignoring the Ferrari infringements but penalises Mclaren at every available opportunity.

Technically wasn't team orders, the drivers had an agreement to do this. But I'm sure if McLaren had done this, they would have been dock points
