One thing that struck me today with the likes of Duberry and Whalley being released today, and Irekipen still on a free transfer as well, how does it all work if we wanted to bring any of them in?

Now, Irekipen was a free agent BEFORE the transfer window, and Duberry and Whalley DURING the window. Does that have any effect at all?

As long as they become free agents before the window shuts, they can be signed by anyone at any time.

Don't forget there's no such thing as a FREE transfer.
If we tried to bring in any free agents, we'd more than likely have to pay them a hefty signing on fee.

I know that, I just wondered because there are still plenty of players without Clubs that would jump at the chance of signing for a Club again.

That's a fair point Rich, but being unemployed may make some lower their demands. And after his antics here in the summer forget Iriekpen.

I wasn't suggesting him for a second, but I was using him as an example as I knew he was a free agent before the January transfer window, and I knew Whalley and Duberry became free agents during the transfer window.
