i dont care who RM goes into partnership with as long as come March 2nd we still have a Southend United Football Club. and once they have built FF they do the honorable thing by the club and its supporters ,sell SUFC to an honorable person / conglomerate get their nest egg and we never hear from them again.
I don’t care who Ron goes into partnership with?

Jesus, listen, I get we all want the club to survive after the 1st March, of course we do, but unless he sells the club to someone with deep pockets then we are just going to keep ending up in court, players and staff will continue to go unpaid and we won’t be able to attract any decent players to the club for a long time to come.

Yes we have built a very good squad this season and the recruitment has been very impressive thanks to Stan, John and the management. However since last summer the issues off the field have been worse than they ever have been before. No decent player will now sign for us this summer unless all of the issues are resolved and the only way that’s going to happen is for Ron to sell immediately.

Players want to know they will get paid and I’m guessing there’s not a professional football in this country now who hasn’t heard about our club and the fact the players aren’t getting paid and that we’re on the brink of going out of business.

Players want security as they only have very a short career and right now that’s not us unfortunately!!

i did say do the honorable thing , its clear to most everyone ,hes not going to sell the club until he and if hes in a partnership , they get there nest egg ,until then they have to keep SUFC alive ,its part of the deal with SBC. ,And for sure the better SUFC are doing the more value it would be for them also easier to find buyers

Inheritance tax planning? Is Martin senior going to croak anytime soon ?
I mentioned IHT planning so I'll respond - I have no knowledge of the health of Ron and I have no wish to see him pass anytime soon. But given his age, and to be honest even if he was 20 years younger he should be looking at it, he must be looking at ways to reduce any IHT liability - after all we know he doesn't like giving HMRC anything! One way would be to have any profits from FF/RH accrue not to himself but to his children directly, hence it not even being part of his estate. Another would be to give assets away now, with any IHT liability tapering to zero over the next 7 years.

Slight update - although probably not much, if anything that concerns SUFC, but Jack does still own Roots Hall so could be food for thought. Jack and the other individuals involved in this thread (Bharat Thakrar & Anthony Gershon) have been busy forming new companies.

Few more on there but you get the drift. Assuming the 'HFG' ones are subsidiaries of Housing First Group.

Anyone with history or more in depth forensics offer insight if this means anything regards companies that own Roots Hall?
