Whilst driving by, I have noticed refurb work being done on the Golden Lion and I wondered whether it would open as a pub again. I now know, courtesy of the Echo. It is being turned into bed-sits with the new owner's business (vintage cars) operating from the ground floor. Bit of a shame, but no surprise I guess. It used to be the pub of my choice before match day so many fond memories.

Yes I used to prefer it to the Spread back in the day :cricko:

Had a good few in there with some Man City fans the day we won League One. The Spread was one-in-one-out by noon and they were all down to cheer on The Goat. I know it was more typically an away pub, but a shame to see it finally go nonetheless.
