Grant Shapps

So nothing about this despicable ****?

Not surprising I guess, the tories of SZ wouldn't want this story to gather momentum. Several major media outlets aren't running the story either. Strange eh!

So he lied about having a second job while a fully paid MP. But in defence of that lie threatened a constituent with legal action. The first part I'm prepared to forgive, but the second part is indefensible. He has to go IMO.

But no, spamfaced D-Cam is happy to see him continue as party chairman.

Grant Shapps is actually an old acquaintance of mine. I've known him since we were teenagers. I said hello to him not all that long ago in the local Cafe Nero on a Sunday morning. He was in there working because he could get on with some work without being pestered by his family and (because it was outside of his constituency) without being interrupted by any constituents.

Does that mean I have any sympathy for him? Not a huge amount because he should know better than to make definite statement when he "doesn't know".

And to threaten legal action when someone points it out, should mean he should have at least double checked his dates at the time the accusation was made, and then not made the same assertion some time later.

What I will say, and this isn't really relevant to this thread, is that on the whole he's a really decent bloke. Looks like he ****ed up big time here though.

On a completely unrelated note, London Live are repeating The New Statesman with Rik Mayall as Alan B'stard

The second is indeed rotten, but I wouldn't let him off the hook for the first either. Very poor form.

Sounds like a typical bully to me, threatening to sue a man that has exposed his lies.

His legal firm don't come out of it smelling of roses either, they must have know the truth and for that reason I will not consider using them in the future.
