Happy New Contract Year

Yes it's July already and our first friendly is just 10 days away.Time for a little transfer activity,one would hope.

I don't expect us to sign anyone who commands a fee,no new midfielders (although a winger would be good) and very unlikely to see any new strikers (we have the numbers here although the jury is still out on the quality).

We desperately need one (ideally 2) central defenders plus a left back.My preference would be to get in season long loanees to fill the gaps as our play-off hopes were lost in the couple of months when the first batch left before the second lot arrived.

2. Expectations? FA Cup, Carling Cup, Johnstones Paint and League Winners, Carlos Tevez, Michael Owen, Joleon Lescott, Paulo Maldini as defensive coach and an 11th hour hijacked bid for Ronaldo.

Not too much to ask for.

I expect any signing to be a mainly 22/23 year old payers from championship clubs.

Cant see us going for too many kids and dotn think we would have the cash to pay for experience as such. Maybe a defender from the same level at best.
