Hattrick U20's

Got a message from the Icelandic u20's coach over the weekend.

He's interested in one of my players. He's a formidable Defender.

He asked me for his stats which I gave him and told him I train Defence during the season and Stamina during the season Break. However he started having a go saying it was a waste of time trianing Stamina. I she only interested in getting his player further advanced or is Stamina training a waste?

Is he correct? Should I stick with Defending through the off season?
I play 5-3-2 AIM and pressing occaisionally.

Defenders don't particularly need stamina. If he is not trained in defending for every week from now till 20 he'll more than likely fall behind someone else in the pecking order. It's your choice to make.

Stamina is for playmaking. You might get the occasional stamina event if a defender has only abysmal stamina, but as a 5-3-2 team you surely try and win by having the best defence, rather than trying to win midfield. Defending is therefore surely more important to you than stamina?

I don't care about stamina that much it's just something I thought everyone did. As there aren't as many games in the off season I thought a week or two of stamina for everybody was more worthwhile than just getting 5 people trained in defence.

I think my guy may be a level higher than formidable, I need to check his stats tonight. I'll stick em up tonight as I can't remeber if he's 17 or 18.

What will be the benefits of him playing in the u20's?

He's had 4 weeks of Defending Training towards his next level.

Do you reckon it's worth going through with Defending through close seasons? What levels will he be up to at the end of next season, ie his 20th Birthday?
Will he still be able to play for them whilst he's 20?
