Don’t think he is ready to give up the allotment if that’s what you’re getting at
He has a significant land holding sufficient to pay off HMRC that is conditionally sold to the house builder. Unfortunately the initial planning was rejected and it going to appeal. Unfortunately not quickly enough. I think he was try to flog it to the house builder at a discount without the planning finalised

Regrettably no.
This is not the winding up.
It’s the striking off for not filing accounts. Presumably they have now been filed.

No, I said striking off order. I know its nothing to do with winding up. But I think it is a positive sign

If I remember correctly in the past Ron has sold pockets of land he has owned around the country to help solve some of our cash flow issues. Is there any knowledge of any remaining land ownership he has (other than FF & RH)?

Martin Dawn still has a charge against it relating to land in Benfleet, so presumably he still owns that - it already has borrowings against it, not sure how much equity he has tied up in that.

My misunderstanding (actually not misunderstanding you were clear!- my bad). I guess- at least it can’t be construed as bad news. I think the accounting fees for some of these are in the £10-15k range so it adds up at a time he is potless.

Pretty sure the discontinuation of the striking off order would have been done because it's not in the interest of HMRC to strike the company off.

If that happened they wouldn't get any monies owed, at least this way they still have a chance.

Although the words 'snowballs' and 'hell' spring to mind

You can do your own accounts
You are correct.
But most limited companies will need to complete an external audit once they meet any of the two following criteria: Their turnover is more than £10.2 million. They have total assets totally over £5.1 million. They have more than 50 employees in the business.
So probably audit fees as he has an FD

Alot of this finance stuff goes over my head, but the fact it says it's been discontinued and being processed is a good thing right???

No it isn’t.

Usually a creditor would appeal for a striking off order to be discontinued, so that they can take legal action for any debt. If a company is struck off, in theory (most) debt dies with the company, and any assets are passed to the Crown.

There’s no way this is positive - just expected.

Ah ok, thank you. Like I said alot of this goes over my head, maybe hoping for a slight bit of good news for once

I think a creditor would seek to have the striking off suspended. This is discontinued- so I don’t think so
