Breaking News HMRC Winding-Up Petition - Wed 17th May 2023 - ADJOURNED TO 12th JULY

So out of contract players go, the manager probably goes and we are back here in two months. Great.
Not necessarily.

You build in a little bit of a cushion when asking for an extension in case things take longer than expected as you don’t want to ask for further extensions so things are expected to be sorted before then.

Others will stay in anticipation of things being resolved by then. Much like Sturrock assembled a squad before the embargo was lifted.

Is Tom being a Non Exec director of a company who have put in/supported a winding up order against a company is the the chief exec of, not a massive conflict of interest?

Genuine question. I don't know enough about it.
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure he was placed as a non-exec director as part of the sponsorship deal? Someone else may be able to correct me/confirm this and elaborate on the reasons.

Judge accepted that there was evidence that funds could be forthcoming to meet the debt either through sale of the club (the aim) or additionally in any event other group sources.

BTW looks like PG Site Services joined in to try and get us wound up. So clearly not supporters afterall. You might hate Ron but you don't join a petition to get the club wound up. No doubt we can look forward to an explanation via their SM accounts after lunch.

What time does Happy Hour finish?

Not necessarily.

Can the embargo even be lifted before then though? Think the petition needs to be dismissed. Either way I see nothing that makes me think anything will be different in 56 days time other than the size of the debt.

It was reported the was happy to continue there sponsorship in the latest trust notes 😂 they change there mind more than a woman changes clothes **** me 😂
I suspect it was gently explained that they had 4 years to run. So they would have to pay up the outstanding contract and could offset their loan against that. Its clear from their SM posts they don't give a jot about PR or what people think of them. I have been supportive whilst regretting their playground approach to SM. My bad.

I think we could say goodbye to Bridge and Hobson anyway, unless we had a megabucks owner come in by the end of this month and start splashing the cash, which was never going to happen.

And I reckon Arnold wouldn't mind waiting 2 weeks given that he'll be 34 by the time the season starts and he's coming off the back of 7/8 months out.
They’d be foolish to sign again in any scenario but I thought Bridge had an extra year we could trigger but now can’t.

Why are people going on about the sale needing to go through? We haven't even got any interested parties or a buyer? Write stuff when we actually have one!!

I think it's in the interests of people who are owed money to join a wup. I see if I can find the info I read on it months ago. If so wouldn't read too much in PG joining
Did the shrimpers trust join? I highly doubt it, so either way it doesn’t look good following the point TL made that everything is fine and they continue next year as sponsor.

it’s getting boring now, I don’t like the word “adjournment” as it’s just dragging on until July and NL AGM is next month.

It’s really bad news as we have no idea what is going to happen and we will have no team by pre season as the contracted players will be begging to leave, plus out of contract players will walk before June.
