Quote[/b] (chadded @ Aug. 04 2004,10:01)]For the ameteur gamblers amongst us W4, what does each way mean?
Two bets essentially. In this case....
1) - a bet on Southend to win League 2 at 33/1. £5 x 33, plus the original fiver back = £170. If they don't win, this part of the bet loses.
2) a bet on Southend to finish somewhere in the top three. However, it's at reduced odds, in this case, one quarter of 33, 8.25. £5 x 8.25, plus the original fiver back = £46.25
So, if Southend win League Two, I collect both parts of the bet - a total of £216.25. If they finish 2nd or 3rd, it's just the each way part, £46.25.
Hope that's clear Chadded. And I hope I'm £216.25 richer come early May!
